Distractions from quilting.- in other words don't ever let anyone know you can sew

I got distracted from quilting when someone thought I was a costume designer. She actually asked my 16 year old daughter to do this and she said yes because she was desperate for $$$. We were given this pattern and the picture and some fabric and said to re-create it. I haven't sewn clothing for ages and then to modify it was a stretch - a big stretch.  She and her guy wanted to match a national Color guard team and so she wore this to Homecoming and then to the big Marching band dance at the final competition. He wore the guy costume. It drove me crazy but they loved it. (Yes Mom did it - it was way beyond my daughter's ability)

Then my darling daughter volunteered me to sew color guard costumes. Yay me! It was OK other than the coach was more concerned about cost and color than about fabric quality (aka a pain to work with).  Yes they were supposed to be aliens and yes that is toilet paper rolls in her hair. They later got green twirly antenna to complete the hair-do. I'm swearing off sewing costumes for a while, thank goodness they bought the flags and didn't sew them this time.
