Quilts, quilts, quilts

Sydney Haglund- Syd has made a special quilt for each one of her kids.  This is the last I quilted for her. This is for her daughter Heidi- thus all the "H's" around the border. Syd found a little booklet Heidi had made as a young child (approx 1st grade) that was a story about "The Dog". She recreated the book on this quilt using applique and embroidery using the exact shapes and lettering of the original.  It was entertaining to quilt this and read the "book".

Sydney Haglund- notice the stick figure of the little girl, this is a copy of a picture Heidi drew. Syd has no fear of mixing fabrics and styles and it makes her quilts lot of fun to quilt and see up close and personal.

I was at the American Fork quilt show this summer and loved this quilt, no wonder it looked so familiar- I quilted it a while ago.  The laughs on me. I love the fabric and color selection that Bambi Collins used

The judges loved it too - it got best of division. woohoo!

Carolyn Hermanson 2013 She brought this quilt to me very upset.  This is a difficult pattern and when she made the outside pieced border to fit, the inside was "Puffy".  I quilted the log cabins and the fruit trees down and there was extra fabric in the background, through lots and lots of background quilting the background pulled in and looks great.  These pictures were actually taken with the quilt hanging in a show- something she never  thought possible.
